Also known as INDOLE, 3-[2-(ISOPROPYLMETHYLAMINO)ETHYL]-4-METHOXY, N-ISOPROPYL-4-METHOXY-N-METHYLTRYPTAMINE, 3-[2-(ISOPROPYLMETHYLAMINO)ETHYL]-4-METHOXYINDOLE

The author regards this as a seemingly pivotal compound because it combines the orally favorable methyl/isopropyl nitrogen pattern with aromatic oxygenation, yet it is puzzlingly less potent than its 4-hydroxy and 5-methoxy relatives would lead one to expect. It is also frustratingly hard to make, and several related ring isomers remain untested in humans.
