A naturally occurring alkaloid that, like DMT, is not orally active and is almost always smoked, making exact dosing uncertain and its effects notably variable from person to person. It is far more potent by injection, is found in numerous South American snuffs from Virola and related plants, and can be rendered orally active when combined with a harmala MAO inhibitor.
