PsychonautWiki summary

For most people the dopamine levels are lowest in the morning, because most food is consumed during the day, and after a typical 8 hours of sleep, most of the phenylalanine (another amino acid dopamine precursor) is depleted. If your dopamine level is very low, you need to take extra tyrosine to compensate for the loss of dopamine (e.g. a heavy dose becomes equivalent to a common dose in this circumstance).
