Mechanism of action
The mechanism of action of viloxazine in the treatment of ADHD is unclear; however, it is thought to be through inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine.
Pharmacodynamics
Viloxazine binds to and inhibits the norepinephrine transporter (Ki=0.13 μM). In addition, viloxazine binds to and exhibits partial agonist activity at the serotonin 5-HT
2Creceptor (Ki=0.66 μM).
Pharmacokinetics
